Terry: This week we stepped out of our comfort zone and took a trip back to our childhood by watching Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts. I was excited because it almost felt nostalgic. I thought it was going to be like watching Saturday morning cartoons. But, soon after I started to think that I’ve grown out of this. Batman Unlimited: Animal instincts is non-stop action but it’s extremely boring. The plot is overly simplistic (probably because it’s for kids) and the whole movie feels recycled. It’s riddled with (not funny at all) one liners, and predictable fight sequences (bad guys gain upper hand, oh no! Wait, good guys overcome bad guys. Hooray!). There are so many better cartoons out there like Zootopia, Finding Nemo, Inside Out, etc. Those are clever films with substance even though they’re meant for kids.
Jordan: I was somewhat excited because I’m a fan of Batman. I have most of the live-action films in my movie collection. And I used to watch Batman cartoons as a kid and I remember loving them! But this movie was so boring! I’m trying to be generous because I know the movie is for kids but I’d agree with Terry. There are lots of kids movies out there that are funny and clever. Both adults and kids can enjoy them. I wouldn’t recommend watching this unless you’re a die hard Batman fan.
Bottom line, we wouldn’t recommend watching this unless you’re a die hard Batman fan.
